Pasadena Penthouse
Whole House Project: Pasadena Penthouse
This luxury penthouse at the Granite Park condominium complex was originally was originally built as two separate units. The owners fell in love with the view of the San Gabriel Mountains afforded by ample windows and 3000 square feet of patio space, but wanted more interior space than one condominium could provide.
The design challenge for CBA was to create a grand foyer and one beautiful central staircase to an upstairs office loft, instead of the existing two spiral stairs. The master bedroom and great room were enlarged and a fully-equipped kitchen and bar, complete with three full-size wine refrigerators were created, instead of the two smaller kitchens that had orginally been installed.
Cynthia Bennett & Associates designed and specified all materials including lighting fixtures, cabinetry, millwork, fittings and fixtures, hardware, the central staircase, doors, and a new front entry. The challenge was to make the interior “Transitional”, combining the contemporary style of the building with the owners’ antiques collection, harmoniously juxtaposed with newly designed more contemporary pieces.
